More stuff for my gothic bathroom

The bathroom is finished!

I finally bought the black towels (two hand towels and one bath towel).  Gorgeous and soft, I already washed them and they are ready to be used.

I also rearranged the sink.  I took out the bottle holding the incense sticks, to make more space, and painted black the pot of the cactus.

I also bought a votive candle in a black mate glass; I placed the matchbox near it, for when it has to be used.  For the decoration, I used a quite old Martha Stewart Halloween Scrapbook paper.  And I painted the scent diffuser in black as well.  From now on, I will just pour the new recharge in it.

And this is the final state of the coffin shelf.

The little bottles are just for decoration.  The center shelf holds a glass painted tupper that contains medical stuff; the bottle at the bottom shelf is empty for now.

I also received a fantastic bathtub coffin tray:

I have to use it in my other bathroom, which is where we have the spa tub.  But the tray is great and I absolutely love it!  You can see that I added a black candle here as well...

And with this, my gothic bathroom is finished!  I am very happy how well it all turned out, and I had fun with the decorating and the DIY projects.

Little details

Sometimes life can get hectic, and you have some small projects that get pushed to the back burner, and never finished.  I had one of those projects since before last Christmas!  So I was very happy when I finally ended it.

It is a very simple wood tray that I made out of popsicle sticks.  My coworker Carlos, who is a darling, cut the sticks for me.  I stained it and put some candles on it for a cozy look in the living room.

The handles I bought from Tienda de Casitas; the round candles are from Art of Mini and the pillar candles were a gift from Nalladris.  They are all snow white as if they were just new from a shop.  I do not like to display already burnt candles - not even in real life! - so the wicks are white too.

I love the center table!  It has a sliding drawer under the glass that you can decorate with stuff.  I (oops, my mistake, I mean Kassandra, of course!) put two black and white ballet photographs on it.  The lower drawer also opens.  There are some cutlery sets, placemats and coasters on it.

Also, I made two vintage posters for the museum scene.  This time it's Titanic memorabilia.  You all know that Kassandra was a passanger of Titanic, so naturally anything Titanic interests her:

The largest one depicts an add for tickets sales of the sailing from New York to Europe - that naturally never took place.  I love how they look!

Table for the museum, and some new pieces

Yay, it's done!

It only took one afternoon of work, but I am happy with the final result.  This was a serving table that I purchased from Beautifully Handmade, and that I wanted to incorporate to Kassandra's museum.  The drawers did not have holes for me to put on the pullers, so I had to do them myself.  Good thing that my husband had the right tool for me to do it!

I simply stained it with Scalecolor Inktense Chestnut ink, and let it dry.  Then, I added the handlers, which are, of course, pieces from Bindels Ornaments.

And vĂ²ila!

The lower shelf has a bit of uneven color, but it was hell trying to stain the little rail between the boards!  I had to use a double 0 brush, and even so, ink got everywhere.  But alas, I am guessing most of the shelf will be covered by artifacts, so I do not think it will matter in the end.  Here are already some pieces decorating the table:

You can see here the sides of the Egyptian jewelry box.  The round box is supposed to have lapislazuli inlays.

Also, here are some religious artifacts, made with Bindels pieces as well:

Today I put a huge order with them, hoping I can recieve it for next weekend, which will be four days long!  I cannot wait to start crafting with them,  I have plenty to do!

New minis for the museum

Happy Day of the Dead, and belated Halloween!

Nothing like a free day to craft and enjoy minis.  Today I was busy with some pieces from Bindels Ornaments.  I made two sets of vanity tray, one for me and one for my mom:

Marijke shows you how to do the lovely box in this video.  And you can see how to make the rest of the pieces here.

I wanted to include this tray in the soap shop, in the Black and White shelf.  I think now the shelf is finally finished:

And I made another box for the museum scene.  This one is a piece recovered from an Egyptian site, with lapis lazuli inlays:

I am still waiting for the furniture to arrive, but in the meantime, I can share this lovely fossil from the hands of Val Harper, owner of Unique Miniatures:

See the box with the triceratops head?
Triceratops have always been my favorite dinosaur!  I was very lucky to snatch this piece!  I am currently working on more pieces for the museum.  Very soon Kassandra will have lots of tales to tell you about the new "acquisitions"...

Last Absinthe Tray

This is definitely one of my favorite items. Unfortunately, it is also the last one that will be available, at least for some time.
I have run out of some of the components that I need to make this set. I am in the search for new suppliers, since I do not live in the US anymore. But until I find them, this particular set will not be offered again.
If you like this set, this may be your last chance to make it yours. Don't wait!
You can buy it at my shop.

The Absinthe Tray is finished!

...and up for sale in my shop!

I love how it came out! I thought the tray was going to be too small to hold everything, but it's perfect.

I have been considering talking with Fake Food Decor (in case you don't know him, he makes the most fabulous and realistic fake food in real life size I have ever seen) and ask him to make one just like this for me. I would love to have an Absinthe display in my living room...
